Scaffolding guidance
3 video explainers to help you learn how to use the different components of the book - trimtabs, tools, and mini-cases - to support one another
-Amazon review, pls - Hey, amigos, If you’ve already bought the book, would you be up for posting a kind review on Amazon, please? It’s all algorithms these days. Thanks in advance.
On Friday I posted Course syllabus: "Design Your Social (Changemaking) Innovation.” If you are designing/ teaching a course using content from the book, facilitating, and/or designing workshops, you should find this follow-on post particularly helpful.
For those who aren’t familiar, scaffolding is an instructional practice where an educator/ facilitator (You can also do it on your own.) helps students/ participants go from “can’t do” to “can do with assistance” to “can do independently.” The scaffold is the assistance part.
I designed this toolbox to help you scaffold each of the primary components, the Changemaking Trimtabs, the Changemaking Tools, and the Changemaking Innovation Mini-Cases, with the others. This is definitely one of the most unique features of the book. Scaffolding is great for working in teams/groups in person and virtually. And in addition to being an effective learning strategy, done well it’s dyanamic, inclusive, and catalyzes a creative “all teach, all learn” environments.
I’ve included specific scaffolding guidance in each section on pages 18, 78, and 343. As well, I’ve recorded and posted videos on the YouTube channel that walk you through how the scaffolding works. Click through the links below. Take some time and watch them. It should be worth the investment.
